I'm Back (and you're thrilled, right?)

It's been a while since the last post here. I have no explanation to offer you other than life got in the way.

In the interim, we have elected a new president (and finally got one right), said good-bye to Jay Leno, and have continued to lose our asses economically. Our human experience is a mixture of big things and little things.

Today I revisited my rusty old PC, which I had mostly abandoned in favor of my new Mac. I was told that Explorer needed to upgrade. Never having been a fan of PC's nor Internet Explorer for that matter, I thought it made some particle of sense to fix what was fixable. So after the usual downloading routine, I restarted Explorer only to be told that "Some evil program has corrupted your choice of homepage, so we are resetting it to 'Bing.' " What the heck? All I wanted was to access Google (my home page) and get on with my business. But the Microsoft engineers have another plan it seems. "Bing," for the unacquainted, is the latest turkey - a search engine - from the nitwits in Redmon, Washington. After about an hour of wrestling with IE8, and having no luck, I did the more sensible thing: I downloaded Safari 4 from Apple. I have a better browser, and it doesn't argue with me about my choice of homepage. Life is better now. Yes indeed, my experience is a mix of big things and little things.
